To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued, for the first time in the history of the country, bullion coins made of high-purity Azerbaijani gold, which entered circulation on May 10, 2023. The obverse of the bullion coin features the profile portrait of the Great Leader, his signature, and the inscription "Heydər Əliyev". The reverse features the inscription "Azərbaycan Respublikası", the image of the State Emblem, the face value of the bullion coin, and national ornaments. The bullion coin is legal tender within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan at its face value.
